Chapter Advocate Program
Detroit ACM SIGGRAPH’s Chapter Advocate program is a leadership development initiative for educators, students and emerging professionals involved in computer graphics.
The leadership program is intended to improve professional communication skills, build stronger CG related network connections, and provide access to chapter resources that include professional expertise, qualified educators, and digital media content.

Why is Detroit ACM SIGGRAPH offering this Chapter Advocate program?
We desire to build strong professional relationships with individuals from a variety of supportive creative environments for the purpose of sharing, and disseminating information and techniques related to computer graphics.
Who should apply?
Professionals seeking to develop leadership skills; or Educators involved in the teaching subjects related to computer graphics; or Students that are studying in a field related to computer graphics.
What are the benefits?
Meet and interact with computer graphic professionals. Develop stronger professional relationships within the computer graphics community through the assistance of a chapter mentor. Enhance and improve professional communication skills through interaction with a professional organization. Access to chapter resources that include professionals, educators, and digital media content.
What is the cost?
It is free to apply and become a chapter advocate.
How many applicants are accepted and what is the deadline?
We are limiting our program to 24 Chapter Advocates with no more than one faculty member and two students from any one educational institution. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and will be considered in the order that that are received. We encourage applicants to submit by Oct 31st. Applications submitted after Oct 31st will continue to be considered if spaces within the program are still available.
How long does it last and what are the commitments?
We are seeking individuals that can make a 6 to 9 month commitment (typically October to May). This would require at least one communication exchange a month. These communications will occur through a combination of email, online video conference(skype,google hangouts), phone conversations and in person meetings. An additional requirement is to attend or participate in one Detroit ACM SIGGRAPH event.
